WETHERSFIELD — Designed to both fit in with the landscape of the Silas Deane Highway and stand out, the Borden was celebrated at a grand opening event, on Sept. 9.
The six acre complex, built by the development firm Lexington Partners, includes two buildings that house 19,000 square feet of commercial spaces as well as 150 residential units at 1160 and 1178 Silas Deane Highway.
Lexington Partners President Martin J. Kenny, who lived in Wethersfield for 35 years, thanked many who made the project possible, including officials from the town.
“Not only did it take a village, it took a lot more than that to get this done,” he said. “This town has some of the most unbelievable talent. Everybody is unpretentious, unassuming, and very talented.”
